Election polling and absentee ballot rules noted

Polls open at 7 a.m. Tuesday and close at 7 p.m. Absentee ballots are due by 7 p.m. Tuesday at the county clerk's office in the Douglas County Courthouse at 11th and Massachusetts. Only registered Democrats Republicans or unaffiliated voters may vote unaffiliated voters must declare a party at the poll.

Voters brace for modest turnout in Kansas primary

Kansas Secretary of State Bill Graves predicted about 400000 Kansans would vote in the presidential primary Tuesday, with 175000 Republicans 150000 Democrats and 75000 independents.
