Newman departs Kansas after stellar NCAA run
Malik Newman announced via press release after 5 p.m. Wednesday that he will leave Kansas to enter the NBA Draft with an agent. The 21-year-old guard, a former McDonald’s All-American, thanked KU coach Self, teammates, and fans, noting two years as a Jayhawk and a redshirt year that helped his development. He led KU in scoring during key postseason games and finished with 14.2 points per game for the season, while eyeing the 2018 NBA Draft combine in Brooklyn May 16-20 as he foregoes remaining college eligibility.
