Salvation Army aids 60 Douglas County children with Easter outfits
The Salvation Army Women's Auxiliary provided free spring outfits to more than 60 Douglas County children from infants to sixth grade at the basement Church. About 35 to 40 families signed up for the Easter clothing gift, funded by $600 in donations and donations from area churches. Clothing was donated or purchased and some Easter wrapping supplies were donated by Hallmark Cards Inc. Unused outfits will be stored or saved for late comers after Easter.

Lawrence High seeks re accreditation with outcomes based approach
Lawrence High School aims to earn re accreditation this month by showcasing fewer suspensions better attendance and a new program giving at risk students more individualized instruction. Cockfighting raid arrests spread across states near Bates City
Nearly 150 attendees observed an illegal cock fight south of Bates City in Lafayette County. The Missouri State Highway Patrol and local authorities charged 95 participants with gambling offenses, two with resisting arrest, and one with marijuana possession.
