St Louis LDS Temple Dedication Nears for Lawrence Members
Lawrence Church members prepare for the St. Louis Mormon temple dedication in June, with an open house April 26 to May 17. The temple will serve about 100,000 Midwest Mormons, and about 300 from Lawrence are expected to attend the open house and dedication. The temple features white granite exterior, a single 150 foot spire topped by a Moroni statue, 59000 square feet of space, and facilities including a baptistry, Celestial room, four sealing rooms, and a cafeteria. The closest temples before this were in Chicago, Denver, and Dallas.
