Fund president tours Haskell officials to promote tribal colleges
David Archambault, president of the American Indian College Fund, visited Haskell Indian Junior College on Wednesday to learn how tribal colleges use funds. The Fund, started in 1989, supports 24 tribal colleges and two BIA colleges with scholarships and aims to raise 10 million dollars for five years. Archambault noted limited resources on reservations and praised Haskell’s plan for a four year teacher education degree.
