County clerk predicts modest turnout in city election

Douglas County clerk Patty Jaimes forecasts about 30 percent of 34 999 registered voters will vote in the city commission and school board elections, higher than February’s 23 percent primary but not a record turnout. Absentee ballots show 341 requested, 234 returned, with 175 cast in the primary. A $500 000 bond for Holcom Park recreation complex is on the ballot, but interest remains low.
