A separate legal notice from Douglas County Kansas warns Simon Steinberg and Steinbers & Brother of a lawsuit over goods and a promissory note with attachment, requiring a response by October or risk default.
A report from Paso Tex on Captain Emil Crawford and Lt Davis leading Apache scouts in a chase across the Sierra Madre toward the Sonora line. The expedition covers over fifteen hundred miles with praise for Davis and Crawford as they press toward reservations. In Wisniese a bank president, Lawrence Brainerd, is kidnapped by private detectives aiding a bank robbery case and a chase ends with a failed interception at the border.
A late night wind and rainstorm wrecked the Blotsche residence injuring a 15 year old boy and a 5 year old girl believed fatally. The Taylor mill roof blown off and about fifty homes damaged. Twelve people reported injured as floodwater followed the wind. Damages run high with heavy rainfall the heaviest in nine years.

The Lawrence Daily GazERTe announces a birth and notes a public dispute about the editor-in-chief position. The Tribune says the GazERRE is published by Gazerre Publishing Company with Osbun Shannon M W Reynolds and Paul Leake as founders. Reynolds is named editor with Leake as associate.
