Populist delegates chosen for state convention in Topeka
Douglas County populists met to elect delegates to the People’s Party state convention in Topeka on June 12. L. Van Vorhees was named temporary chair, Ed Melville secretary, with committees on credentials resolutions and permanent organization formed. Delegates from townships were listed, and the convention adjourned to reconvene at 1 PM.

Belle Bigsby, arrested in Kansas City on a charge of improper conduct, is implicated in taking $325 from her father through Charles Pease and son. Police found her at the Dathlene place and she was taken to the station. Her father offered a choice between reform or penitentiary, and she returned home.
