In Ray county near Orrick Missouri on a Saturday night Bee Rainwater killed his wife his mother in law one of his wife's children and a step brother then killed himself The tableau occurred after Rainwater invited his wife and children from Artman house to church The killings followed gunfire at close range across several rooms and left multiple fatalities including Mrs Rainwater Mrs Artman Johnny Thurman Fannie Gentry and Rainwater Himself An inquest found the act rooted in Rainwater's troubled marriage and alienation from neighbors.

In Cincinnati on March 22 authorities announce a new prosecution against William Wood cousin of Pearl Bryan. The case follows the execution of Scott Jackson and Alonzo Walling and alleges Wood was involved in the seduction that led Jackson and Walling to help dispose of the body.
The United Labor League of Western Pennsylvania with about 6000 members adopted resolutions at its monthly meeting. They will be sent to President McKinley protesting the appointments of J C Larshinin as minister to Switzerland and W O S Kallenberg as assistant postmaster general, arguing they oppose oremined labor. In Dexven Colorado snow fell since Saturday, with a broad statewide storm affecting eastern Colorado and western Kansas and Nebraska.

News from New York reports Billy Birch the old-time minstrel was stricken with paralysis last night while attending an Elks lodge meeting. He was removed to his home for care.
A woman who survived a murder case remarried Ree Rainwater six years after her first husband Gentry died. Two daughters from that union are mentioned, and one child was born to the later marriage. The text notes a second child from the prior marriage and references the deceased Gentry.
Colonel J. H. Brigham new assistant secretary of agriculture says the agricultural outlook is hopeful and the administration will encourage crop diversification. The War Department issued President Cleveland's February 26 order adding 26,157 acres from the Wichita Comanche and Apache lands to Fort Sill. The land will house military uses and Geronimo's Apache band long held in Alabama will be relocated there.

Mansfield Missouri March 22 The St Louis Mansfield and Ava Southern Railroad company with a headquarters here has closed a contract with the Ozark Construction company of Springfield for the building of the first ten miles of road north from Mansfield work to begin at once.
Representative Maxwell of Nebraska introduced a bill in March proposing a beet sugar bounty to support beet farmers. The measure aims to boost production and stabilize prices for the crop.
