A reader questions a council article on cotton seed fertilizer value and exchange rates. More than 350 men and boys gathered at the Y M C A on Sunday afternoon to hear Rev L G Gates and enjoy piano and vocal music led by Mrs Beera Celeste and Alta Rowan with Beers and Norvell. Alta Rowan sang No Room in the Inn. Gates preached on Thy kingdom come thy will be done on earth as it is done in heaven urging Christians to align actions with faith. He suggested a potential grand jury report about two citizens and voiced calls for vindication if true, or punishment for inactivity if false. A pretty wedding was held Sunday evening at 9 o'clock at the home of Dr and Mrs J W Tisdale. The contracting parties were Homer Leggett and Miss Jimmie Ree Tisdale with Rev J W Atwood officiating. The couple left for Atlanta where Leggett will enter the Atlanta school of Dental Surgery. The Ledger wishes them a happy life.
A Holiness Convention will be held in New Orleans from October 19 to 28. The event promises eminent pulpit speakers, eloquent addresses, and excellent music, inviting all to attend this moving spiritual festival.

Policemen W. E. Naylor and A. V. Clark of Laurel were ordered to appear in Circuit Court at Ellie ville to show cause why they should not be indicted for contempt of court. The action follows a Laurel Chronicle article severely arraigning the Grand Jury over a report on whiskey sales. The Grand Jury accused the officers of collecting fines without bringing offenders to court and allowing whiskey sales to continue. The officers' published reply used strong language toward the Grand Jury. The case was set for hearing today and had not been heard at press time.
Large revival at Mt Vernon church just east of Laurel closed last Sunday led by evangelist Rev W C Swope from Charleston Missouri assisted by local ministers Revs Davis and Windham. The ten day gathering produced over 75 conversions and a notable sense of spiritual renewal in the community.
