A 19th century discussion estimates vast waste in sawdust from southern lumber mills. It calculates 50,000 gallons of alcohol and 195,000 dollars value per day from byproducts, warning of multi million dollar annual losses if alcohol manufacture and fuel use remain untapped.
The Supreme Court sustains part of a move to remove superseders and allows dissolution of the injunction blocking Jones county election actions The Board of Supervisors, after the ruling, can proceed to establish the Second District as lawfully created The county election officials counted 597 votes for and 33 against the district and sent the result to the Secretary of State.
A large Myrick crowd visited Huddleston Sunday for a pleasant time. Percie Williams of Antioch visited Myrick and Huddleston Sunday. Dan Robinson visited home near Fellowship Saturday. D R Jenkins of Lamar visited family Saturday and Sunday. Little Julian Valentime, two, son of Mr and Mrs A M Valentime, died Saturday night and was laid to rest in a brighter place with angels.

Dead at age seventy in November 1906 near Laurel Miss. Sister Phoebie Catherine Myrick joined Shiloh Church in 1854 and remained faithful for 52 years. Married 1859 to Bro. Myrick, who lies buried beside her. Nine children born to them. four boys and four girls living with grandchildren and friends. Died at her daughter’s home and laid to rest at Shady Grove Cemetery on November 21, 1906. funeral by G W Bop.
The D Armond Company presented the second Dixie Lyceum Bureau program under Tullahoma Club auspices. The performance was described as perfect in rendition, brilliant in humor, and beautiful in song, with Mr De Armond and the talented ladies forming a standout quartet.

Public invited.
A Union Thanksgiving Service was held at the YMCA last night with a large attendance. Brother Chambers spoke well as music, devotion, and a fitting sermon emphasized blessings, freedom, and worship of one Lord. A bank offering collected for homeless orphans will be distributed as donors direct.
J W Barnes of Laurel marries Minnie Seay of Hero Jasper County at the bride’s father J W Seay’s home ten miles south of Hickory. The ceremony was performed Sunday November 26 by Rev W P Massey of the Methodist Church. The couple will reside in Laurel and the groom works for Lindsey Wagon Co.
