Open Graves Found in Woods Near Laurel

News reached town on Tuesday of twenty one holes in the woods two miles west of Laurel. Officers visited the scene with citizens finding nine keystone shaped graves near Mr Reeves place and ten coffin shaped holes two feet long two feet deep. Holes are fresh not more than a week old and baffle explanation.

Thos. J. Lyon and family visited relatives near Heidelberg late in the week. Minnie Welborn and the Johnson and Lyon families spent Sunday at the Myrick home. Last Saturday night two African Americans visited Hicks Mercantile Co to view clothes. One was found concealing a pair of shoes. police arrested him. Mrs Pace and daughter of Eucutta were visiting relatives here last week. Crops are good through this section. Farmers busy but a rain decked their work. Tate Company mosquito bars.
