Convocation at St John s Laurel Ends With Praise and Plans
The Episcopal convocation at St John s Church Laurel opened Tuesday January 14 with Holy Communion led by Rev G B Gibbs of Hattiesburg. Sermons and addresses by Bishop and Revs Nowell Logan and H H Sneed ran 11 am 4 pm and 7 30 pm daily. Congregations were large. the rector suffered grip but is convalescing. The reception at the rectory honored bishop and clergy, praised hospitality, and praised the convocation as highly successful. Allan Khing was absent during reports but the bishop praised the rector s 23 months of work from a failing mission of 30 communicants to 42 confirmations. Committees on reception and entertainment credited for making the event enjoyable. Allan to preach the council sermon in Meridian and open the next convocation in Gulfport.

Mr L L Lawrence asked for the hearing to be postponed so he could communicate with railroad officials. Knife attack at town dance injures man
