Thousands gathered as President elect Taft arrived by special train delayed about thirty minutes. Mayor Nobles Gov Noel and A W Noble welcomed him. Taft expressed gratitude for loyalty saying the crowd cared more to see the man than hear a speech. Ruth Moss Ishee mourned. funeral for daughter wife and sister in Christ held with 300 present.

Mrs. C. H. Bonney Dies in Laurel
The city mourns Mrs. C S Bonney who died suddenly at her West Street home Saturday evening at about sixty five. Found on the bed after an afternoon yard duty she appeared in good health prior. Her son Roy Bonney of Kentwood La. came Sunday and the body was shipped to Clinton Iowa for interment. She leaves a husband several sons and many friends.

Dwellings Go Up In Flames At Eastman Gardiner
