A soaked Monday saw the Laurel Board of Supervisors and Judge McCaskill attend a rainy morning session at the New Court House site. Bids for the court house came in with Robinson Humphrey Co of Atlanta winning at 126,660 plus 6,650 premium. The Magnolia Hotel block near Oak and Magnolia Streets is favored for the new site, with a committee set to review plans ensuring only architectural quality designs are accepted.

Armory Hall sought for new Mississippi court house
