Mission Board Organized at Mt Ohrel Church
Twenty messengers from various churches of the Tallahala and Landmark Baptist associations met the Mt Ohrel church. Bro Harrison preached on missions at 11 o'clock. The mission board was reorganized at 1 PM, with Harrison named home missionary for destitute areas in Wayne County. McCardle preached at 7:30 PM. Creed spoke on church works at 10:30 AM Sunday. Refreshments followed. The day was well spent and enjoyed by all.

Shot by Own Pistol Saves Life of E B Josey at Laurel
E B Josey, a farmer four miles east of Laurel, was shot at the oil mill Saturday around 3 pm when his pistol dropped from his coat pocket and discharged. The ball struck the hip but caused no bone breakage. He received medical care, stopped bleeding, and began recovery at home with physician aid. Laurel Mattress Factory advertises mattresses at low prices.

Two Cottages Burn Near Hickory Grove in Unknown Origin
Two adjoining houses owned by Mrs. Glass burned down near Hickory Grove on Tuesday night. Four and five room cottages were destroyed with total loss of household goods. Fire started around ten after the family retired and spread quickly, aided by water difficulties. Insurance partially covered the loss. origin undetermined, suspected to be from the fireplace.
