March of the Laurel boys to Chicamauga trip
One of the greatest events in the life of the boys of Company EE was a visit to Chicamauga as a reward for top drilling. Laurel Meridian Vicksburg and Brook haven earned the trip among southeastern states. The encampment teaches tactics, drills, maneuvers and discipline while exploring the park and historic battle sites. Capt. Clais O Ferrall and Company II are pictured with the boys who returned inspired and praised for their performance.

Laurel Regulates Railroad Whistles With New Ordinance
An ordinance by the City of Laurel Mississippi prohibits railroad trains within city limits from blowing whistles except to save life or property. Violations carry a fine up to 100 dollars or imprisonment up to thirty days, or both. Adopted July 12 1906, city officials Br idgers and Andrew Flagan are noted.

Wireless Telegram Sent From Laurel to Gardiner Far Aboard Steamer
A wireless telegram was sent from Laurel by Miss Brockman of the W A T Co to George S Gardiner, father of Mrs H N Rogers, who was about a thousand miles from New York aboard the steamer America between Cherbourg and New York. The reply arrived in twelve hours, routed via Halifax Sable Island and Marconi Wireless.
