Artificial Lake Open To Public Park Day July Third
Laurel readers are invited to the Lindsey lake park two miles north of town for a public opening on July 3 with speeches, basket picnic, ball game and boat races. The forty acre grounds include a near sixty thousand square yard artificial lake, two dressing rooms, a boat house for twelve, band stand, refreshment stands, a tabernacle, and planned grandstand. Season boating and bathing tickets will be sold for about ten dollars, with outsiders paying twenty five cents per visit. Boats will be ready in two weeks and trains will run hourly from the depot to the park.

Court House Fixtures Expected At Jones County
Chancery Clerk Crawford reports all metal furniture for the two Jones county courthouses has shipped and will be installed soon. The Art Metal Construction Co. crews will be wired at Atlanta, with seating from the Texas Seating Co. expected by May 7. Fixtures will be fireproof to match the building, making two first rate courthouses in the state.
