Road conditions and a governor candidate meet announced

A reader laments poor road maintenance across the county outlining missing mile markers and unsafe guidance boards. The letter urges the road overseer and county commissioner to act to spare travelers and cites railroad fines as comparison. Hon. Chas. Scott, candidate for governor, will speak at the courthouse at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday April 9, 1907.

Governor James K. Vardaman and Senator Ben Tillman arrived today and registered at the Addison. They are here by prior announcement to appear at Odd Fellows Hall where Governor Vardaman will introduce the Senator and discuss the Race Problem with him.

The Catholic Church ladies host an Oriental Bazaar next week featuring Japanese and Chinese decor and wares.
