Hattiesburg and Glarksdale are now operating under the commission form, and Laurel and Gulfport have recently voted to adopt the plan. The first of next January. It is expected that Jackson and Meridian will follow suit as soon as the question can be submitted to a vote of the people.

Officials from North Carolina MLC and L and Hall Conferency pass Christian announced revived plans for a new railroad from Mua Buanmonk to New Orleans. The line, about sixty miles, would connect Chicago to New Orleans via Beaumont, crossing the gulf coast and featuring extensions toward Laurel and Pass Christian. Construction aims to start soon with full operation within twelve to fourteen months, promising a direct Chicago gulf corridor and competitive north south access for Laurel.
