Nashville reports detail the Mississippi River flood spreading from Memphis into Arkansas, with a new breach near St Francis valley raising fears of further inundation. Rescue boats patrol flooded districts as workers bolster dykes and evacuees face growing hardship.
Jackson April 10 an application was filed in Hinds county chancery to place Farmers Mutual Fire Insurance Company of Mississippi into receivership. The bill alleges insolvency and failure to honor policies, with several creditors asserting claims and adjoining farming entities involved.
The Mississippi State Medical Association opened its April session in Jackson with a focus on sectional surgery. Participants included Dr. Hed Johnson of Yazoo City, Drs.
