A gunman opened fire at New Jonesville A M E Zion Church on Providence Road injuring five and killing one during a Saturday afternoon picnic. Witnesses described rapid gunfire and patrons diving for cover as bullets struck the red one story church and fellowship hall 200 yards from the attacker. Police did not release a motive and a suspect remained at large.
