Rights Commission Still Negotiating With Resorts
The Nevada Equal Rights Commission continues talks with major Las Vegas hotels over EEOC discrimination charges. The Sahara MGM Caesars Palace and Summa Corp have engaged in conciliation talks, with a counterproposal expected next week. ERC aims for an enforceable agreement protecting against sex race and national origin bias. The commission also unveiled five 1977 legislative proposals to broaden power to enforce equal rights, including remedies, court compliance, longer filing windows, and temporary restraints. A separate hearing on Robert Hall's firing at MGM Grand concluded with witnesses and a decision anticipated in about two months.

Pilots assail Hughes air firm over McCarran service
About 50 members of the Aircraft and Pilots Association heard complaints about poor maintenance and slow service at McCarran International Airport. Chairman Jack Shay said Summa Corp. dominates general aviation servicing, drives some operators to seek maintenance elsewhere, and urged a second FBO to compete. The county set Nov 10 for briefing and Dec 10 for proposals, with a May 1977 target for a second FBO and a proposed 72 acre operation by Astro Aviation backing Darrell Bradford’s plan.
