Cartier Diamond draws crowds in New York show
The 69.42 carat pear shaped Cartier Diamond, bought by Cartier for 1 050 000 at auction, drew large crowds when shown to the public with Richard Burton and Elizabeth Taylor reportedly outbid but later acquired it. The gem remains on view through early next month under armed guard in a breakproof case.
