Mike Douglas begins a two week filming session at the Las Vegas Hilton in the 2,000 seat showroom. He will tape daily at 1 p.m. through Oct 28 except Oct 23 with guests including Don Adams and stars like the Lennon Sisters and Tony Curtis. Shows air nationally in early November.

Patriot Concert Announces United States Bicentennial Band
The Clark County Bicentennial Commission and Las Vegas Recruiting main station present a one day concert by the United States Armed Forces Bicentennial Band at Las Vegas High School auditorium. The event is Tuesday Oct. 28 at 8 p.m. Admission is free with tickets from the Bicentennial Commission at 400 Las Vegas Boulevard South.

Flood cleanup underway east of Overton to curb river debris
Moapa Valley launches a major cleanup of the Muddy River channel east and north of Overton to remove flood debris. A 45 foot backhoe with a 42 cubic yard bucket, supported by county and state agencies, works on the lower channel from the Nevada Fish and Game Farm to the lower Yamashita property.
