Hayden Victory In Water Project OK By President
Tom Rice of the Colorado River Commission hailed the Presidential approval of the Central Arizona Project and forecast Nevada may authorize its State Water Plan in 1969. President Johnson signed the bill, granting Arizona 2.8 million acre feet annually, a milestone in Hayden's 57-year Congressional career.

Carlin seeks injunction to halt Elko High gymnasium
Carlin files suit in Elko District Court against Elko County School District and Robert R. Child Construction seeking a court injunction to stop the Elko High School gymnasium. The complaint cites two causes of action to void the Sept. 10 contract and to obtain the injunction, with arrangements for Reno judge John E. Gabrielli to hear the case. The action represents Carlin taxpayers amid ongoing bond debates and unfinished projects from a 1966 $2.9 million issuance including Elko gym plans.
