Merlin Anderson Selected Administrator for Nevada Non-Public Schools
Merlin Anderson of Carson City was named administrator of Nevada’s new Commission on Post-Secondary Institutional Authorization. He brings a decade with the Department of Education and previously directed validation services. The 1975 Legislature created the commission to license private colleges and post secondary vocational schools, while licensing for private elementary and high schools stayed with the education department. The panel, chaired by Cynthia Cunningham of Las Vegas, plans rules adoption on Oct. 14 with a $30 000 budget amid concerns over non-public education abuses.
