Virginia Garside Germain 66, longtime Nevada newspaper family member, died about 2:30 a.m. Friday from heart failure in Southern Nevada Memorial Hospital while awaiting leg vascular surgery. She lived at 1813 S. 17th St. with her husband Raymond, Las Vegas SUN vice president, and was a former postmaster and editor on her father Frank Garside’s papers including Tonopah Times-Bonanza and Las Vegas Review-Journal. Born July 29, 1910 in Manhattan Nevada, she studied at the University of Nevada Reno and joined the Junior League and Daughters of American Revolution. Her brother Sherwin Garside of Las Vegas recalls her as very happy with many friends. Funeral services are pending.
