Two women prayed and cried for the safe return of Larry Jeffrey a 6 year old missing in the Charleston Mountains. Sharon Jeffrey the boy's mother waited with his stepmother Alice at search and rescue headquarters for news. The parents and Sharon's fiancé Dan Pearson vowed to stay in the wilderness until Larry is found or the search ends. A large search party including reserve deputies Nellis airmen and volunteers aided the effort.
Larry Jeffrey, six, a Henderson kindergarten pupil, has been missing since 1 p.m. Saturday in the Mount Charleston area. Trackers and searchers note his straight bee line toward the northwest corner of the Toiyabe National Forest. Despite 50 hours alone in near silence, he has shown headkeeping behavior, no food or warm clothing for a 40 degree night. He has a 70 percent hearing loss.
