Professor Visits Bell Laboratories Inspires Nevada Business Group
Governor Sawyer invited Nevada businessmen to New York for talks with industrial leaders, highlighted by a Bell Labs tour. R O Grisdale stressed research as the source of technology, urging selection of highly curious people and an environment that lets researchers follow their own interests. A key point was that research should drive innovation, not merely produce technologies. The piece also notes Max Kelch of the Boulder Dam Area Boy Scout Council directing three exchange campers to other council staffs.
