Needles Considers Sewage Plant Plan and Costs
At a Needles meeting city officials and Ivor Lyons Associates discussed sewer facilities. Lyons says the current system could serve 12 000 to 13 000 people, making a new plant unnecessary. Expanding the present plant costs about 320 000, while a new downstream plant would run about 500 000 with a 30 percent federal grant possible. The city owes approximately 200 000 on the current plant, and maps will be displayed at City Hall and the library for public view.
