Thunderbird Downs may reopen for spring racing
The long awaited official announcement hints Thunderbird Downs will operate this spring with $700 minimum purses for thoroughbreds and $400 for quarterhorses. Racing begins April 24 over seven weekends with ten race programs daily starting about 2 30 p m. A potential fall season may move to the old Paradise Valley track if a lease with current owners is arranged.
