Grace Community Church hosts the Vacation Bible School closing program tonight at 7 on the chapel lawn. About 100 children will perform songs and playlets and display department crafts for families and friends. Craft items may be taken home Friday night.
Sgt. Barton Jacka of the Clark County Sheriff's Office spoke at the Mothers Club gathering at Elizabeth Forrester’s home. He presented a film on narcotics and addiction, warned about glue sniffing, and discussed dangers of heroin injection and marijuana, urging community cooperation.
Members of Christ Lutheran Church in Boulder City will break ground for a permanent House of Worship this Sunday at 9 a.m. The new church, seating over 150, will be built in an open-beam semi Spanish style and connected to the existing chapel by an elongated ell. Excavation for the foundation will begin immediately with most labor to be performed by congregants led by building chairman Vernon Homme.
St. Andrew's Altar Society in Boulder City will sponsor the Cascarone booth at the Damboree in Recreation Park next Wednesday. Mrs. Marge Brennan reports the group has saved egg shells for over a year and spent this past week dyeing and filling the eggs. The society hopes visitors will enjoy the Mexican custom.
On July 9 the Boulder City Homemakers sponsor a two week sewing workshop taught by Home Agent Katherine Everson. Classes meet in the home economics room of Boulder City High School with afternoon and evening sessions. A skirt is the first project and no pattern is needed. There is no charge for lessons and participants are urged to bring portable sewing machines if available.
