Campers Evacuated As Mount Wilson Fire Expands

Dozens of campers were evacuated from Charlton Flats Campground as a brush fire near the Angeles Crest Highway in the Angeles National Forest grew from 35 acres before noon to at least 600 acres by midafternoon. No injuries reported. a lookout at Vetter Mountain was the only structure potentially threatened. Firefighters from Los Angeles and San Bernardino counties and the U.S. Forest Service fought the blaze.
