Davis Hearing Postponed in Hughes Estate Case
In Los Angeles the hearing to oust Summa Corp chief counsel Chester Davis as special administrator representative for Howard Hughes estate was postponed to June 22. Paul Freeze, representing three paternal cousins, filed the motion after Davis admitted withholding documents. Gano, the named administrator, was unavailable to testify. Davis argued the order covered only California documents. The Hughes fortune, once about $2.5 billion, is now estimated at roughly $168 million by an accounting firm.
