Regional commission approves two major street projects
The Regional Streets and Highway Commission approved over 2 million in two projects Jones Boulevard from Charleston to Smoke Ranch Road costing 908000 and Cheyenne Avenue from Civic Center to Las Vegas Boulevard North plus Pecos Street widening at 1150000. Protests at Jones Boulevard led to a reduced speed limit and altered traffic islands.
