A bi state meeting of the Governor's Commission on the Status of People will be held in Room 608 of the Humanities Building at UNLV at 9 a.m. Friday. The meeting will be chaired by Dr. Felicia Campbell.
The Las Vegas Community Block Grant Program awarded $25,000 to the Senior Companion Program of the Nevada Welfare Bureau. Betty Pullman, director, will add five senior companions and a community resource specialist to serve adults with special needs and disabilities through personalized regular visits.
Lt Gov Robert Rose to help kick off the Bicentennial dance at 8 p m Friday at the Sundancer Club 4660 Boulder Highway. Door prizes snacks and raffles offered with a 3 dollar donation. A spokesman said the event lets every candidate meet the public.
