Seven year old Mike Meiss of Overton survived a severe arm injury after walking through a glass door. Constable Jim Pace rushed him 63 miles to Las Vegas at high speed where doctors operated for two and a half hours and gave two blood transfusions. Doctors credited rapid care with saving the boy, who lives in a community without a local physician, and noted his condition was good after the treatment. He is the son of L. C.
