Israel Museum Colossus dramatizes statehood in Jerusalem
The Israel Museum in Jerusalem opens as a monumental complex with three main elements. Al Mansfeld and Dora Gad shape the hilltop pavilion system around a central axis near the Knesset and Monastery of the Cross. Noguchi designs a sculptural hillside display while the Shrine of the Book uses dramatic architecture to stage the Dead Sea Scrolls.
