Vehicle Privilege Tax adjustments advised in Nevada
Carson City reports that heavy trucks and trailers taxed under SB 256 may need renewal price adjustments. DMV Director Louis P. Spitz says renewal forms use a weight based formula until SRRP values are set, with specific per pound rates for trucks and trailers. Bennett notes some trailers were assessed by the wrong method and owners are urged to compare renewal charges with the manufacturer's suggested retail price and seek corrections via Reno or Las Vegas DMV offices or the county assessor.
