Hearing Held on All-Digit Dialing Pleas in California
In Los Angeles Pacific Telephone officials defended all-number dialing as the practical fix for rising user numbers. The State Public Utilities Commission heard complaints from Ivan Nuys attorney James G. Oppen and Edward L. Blincoe of the Utility Users League. The case also targets General Telephone Co. and the California Water and Telephone Co. Oppen sought a temporary restraining order to halt distribution of the all-number directory unless a court rules.
