Lawsuit Against Gamers Tossed in Nevada

District Judge Bruce Thompson tossed a 7 million dollar damages suit by Nate Jacobson, former King’s Castle owner, against the Nevada Gaming Control Board and Gaming Commission. He ruled licensing remains discretionary and not a guaranteed right, noting licenses are not guaranteed to all meeting standards. Jacobson’s prior license expired after bankruptcy and a 1973 licensing reconsideration followed by a sale of the Incline Village establishment. List praised the dismissal as saving the state from a costly challenge.
