Asiago Nuclear Test At Yucca Flats Near Las Vegas
The Energy Research and Development Administration reported an underground nuclear test named Asiago at Yucca Flats 90 miles northwest of Las Vegas. Occurring at 7:09 a.m. Tuesday, the 20 kiloton device was fired 1982 feet underground, marking the 15th test of the year and 298th since the 1963 Limited Test Ban Treaty. Spokesmen said no shock was felt in Las Vegas.
