County health plan kept alive by three member committee
The Board of County Commissioners kept the public health program alive by naming a three man committee to meet with municipal representatives to seek a county wide health finance agreement. The board also approved a 30000 advance for architectural fees and 5000 for site preparation at Pinto and Shadow Lane funded from the general fund until bond revenue arrives. Commissioner Briare opposed site prep funds citing potential needs at Southern Nevada Memorial Hospital and a possibly better site elsewhere.

Cemetery Hearing Scheduled Over 40 Acre Site
Paradise Valley residents gain a public hearing after the Board of County Commissioners overruled a planning board recommendation on a proposed 40 acre cemetery east of Eastern Avenue and south of Patrick Lane. Planning Director Macvey Hoyt noted no prior hearing had been held. Commissioner Briare said locals preferred it to a veneer plant, citing quiet as a benefit. The board remanded the case to county planners for the hearing.
