South West South hand analysis and a bridge question
A bridge puzzle from 1914 examines a South hand with AQJ875 in diamonds and KQ10 in clubs. It contrasts a poor start drawing trumps with a winning line that yields all remaining tricks, then notes a better approach avoiding loss of a trump. Also mentions a Maasstraat court case about a former monk sentenced to 13 years for murders and embezzlement.
