McCurdy mummy remains unclaimed in Long Beach
The mummified body of outlaw Elmer J. McCurdy, found hanging in Laugh In The Dark in Long Beach, remains unclaimed and will stay in the morgue for months as the coroner offers relatives a chance to come forward. McCurdy was killed by a sheriff in 1911 after a life as a desperado in Oklahoma and Missouri.

Utah moved quickly to reschedule Gary Gilmore s execution after he ended a hunger strike and ordered his attorneys to drop all legal obstacles. Fourth District Judge J Robert Bullock ordered Gilmore to appear at 9 0 am Wednesday for the setting of a third execution date. Gilmore s mother in Washington asked the US Supreme Court to revisit lifting a stay on the death warrant. Gilmore s lawyers asked the district court to dismiss a petition claiming the death sentence was not imposed quickly enough.

Kennewick Teen Detained Over Father’s Shooting Death
A 14 year old boy and two companions were arrested in Kennewick on suspicion related to the shooting death of Cecil Beauchamp 50.
