LP Record Inventor Peter Goldmark Dies In Car Crash
Dr. Peter Carl Goldmark 71, inventor of the long playing record, was killed in a two-car collision on the Hutchinson River Parkway Westchester County New York. He lived in Stamford Connecticut and died at United Hospital Port Chester. Funeral services are planned in Stamford. Survives include his wife Diane and children Jonathan and Susan plus four others from a previous marriage.

Memorial Services for Walker and Jacobsen at Nellis Base
Memorial services were held at the Nellis Air Force Base Chapel for Col. William H. Walker s of Bamberg South Carolina and Lt. Col. David A. Jacobsen of Rock Valley Iowa who died in a Tuesday F 15 crash on the Nellis Gunnery Range. About 1 000 people attended. Walker commanded the Nellis Base Hospital and Jacobsen led the 433rd Fighter Weapons Squadron.

Inmates To Receive Yule Gifts In Nevada Prison
Carson City UPI reports that all prison inmates will receive Christmas parcels this year despite rumors. Superintendent Boyd Marsing said inmates were told they could not receive parcels but the unit remains on lockdown after assaults. Parcels will be received between December 1 and January 1.
