Las Vegas mayors urged to grant public hearing on firings
In Las Vegas, city commissioners face pressure after Mayor Grayson and officials fired city manager W L Fletcher and police chief Leo Kuykendall. Fletcher and Kuykendall demand a public hearing with a list of specific charges beforehand to prepare their defense, arguing transparency is crucial and the firing lacks clear justification. The incident prompts a test of the city’s political accountability and the commissioners’ willingness to disclose.
