Probation Sentence In Shooting In Las Vegas Family Fight
A Las Vegas man Warren Bertrand Johnson 33 pleaded guilty to manslaughter in the shooting death of Cornelius Fields during a family fight last spring. District Judge Thomas J. O'Donnell Friday imposed a five year probationary sentence after Johnson had been free on bail. Johnson’s home was the scene of the shooting.

Deposition in $48 million suit targets Hughes and associates
Assistant U.S. Attorney William Turner testified Friday in a government suit filed March 27 by the SEC against Howard Hughes Summa Corp Hughes Air West and five others. The case accuses efforts to sway Air West directors and shareholders to back a Hughes airline purchase in 1968 with shareholders allegedly misled to expect $22 per share instead of $8.75. The deposition continued Saturday at Morse Foley and Wadsworth in Reno after a bid for delay was denied by U.S. District Judge Bruce Thompson.
