Las Vegas Consolidation Suit Faces Deadline Impasse
Las Vegas City Attorney Carl Lovell refused to extend the response deadline for Clark County in a consolidation suit. County Administrator George Ogilvie noted county discussions since Nov 21, possible hiring of special counsel, and a plan for six super departments. The city suit filed Nov 7 seeks a declaratory judgment on voting districts and county commissioners’ actions. Judge Mike Wendell was assigned the case.
